Composition
Invega – long acting tablets: 1 tablet contains paliperidone 3 mg, 6 mg, 9 mg, 12 mg;
Additive agents: macrogol 200Ê;macrogol 7000Ê; sodium chloride; povidone (Ê29-32); hydroxyethyl cellulose; stearin acid; butylhydroxy toluene; iron oxide red; iron oxide yellow; macrogol 3350; cellulose acetate (398-10); dyer white (hypromellose, titania, lactose monohydrate, triacetin); carnauba wax
Pharmacologic properties
Invega - antipsychotic drug (neuroleptic)
Paliperidone is centrally acting antagonist of dopamine D2 - receptors, possessing also high antagonism towards serotonin 5-NT2 - receptors. Besides, paliperidone is antagonistic for both alfa1 - alfa2- alpha-adrenergic receptors and Í1- histamine receptors.
Indications
Schizophrenia, including recrudescence period;
Preventive treatment recrudescence of schizophrenia
Contra-indications
Hypersensitivity to paliperidole, risperidone, and also to any auxiliary component of the preparation.
Validity period – 2 years.
